Four communities, three of the Indigenous Mozonte and one of the Telpaneca indigenous group, implemented Innovation Plans designed and facilitated by the National Union of Farmers and Cattlemen (Unión Nacional de Agricultores y Ganaderos or UNAG). The plans aimed to improve current land tenure systems. In the Nueva Segovia Department, communities El Cacao, Apamiguel and Caracol-Limón developed the plans simultaneously with ongoing internal processes, in order to generate community land registries. In the Madriz Department, the legal entitlement of the San José de Amucayán lands was promoted at the registry of communal property.
