This photo book is the product of ILC Asia member Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) and its partners at the local level. AIPP and its member organisations established the regional network known as Indigenous Knowledge and Peoples of Asia (IKPA) in June 2019. The goal of the IKPA is to advance the recognition, respect, and visibility of indigenous knowledge and community-led initiatives at all levels. IKPA has been undertaking field visits, documenting action and initiatives of indigenous communities in Thailand, making them more visible among indigenous peoples’ organisations, NGOs, UN agencies, and donor institutions.
Through this pictorial record, AIPP wishes to raise awareness about the role of indigenous women as a driving force of indigenous potentials and the stewards of traditional knowledge. This documentation was prepared during the COVID-19 pandemic, which heavily affected grassroots communities, including those in remote locations in Thailand.
