What the LANDex experience has tought us
Just over four years ago, ILC set out to build a tool that would democratiseland monitoring and put people at the centre of data collection so they couldhold their governments accountable. Considering the wealth of existinginitiatives within the Coalition, the tool would not replace ongoing monitoringefforts but would instead attempt to reduce fragmentation and amplifycommon indicators. Since 2018, the Global Land Governance Index, betterknown as LANDex, has been implemented in 31 countries
