Where are we at?
By 2030, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world
From the 2021 VNRs, 16 out of 40 countries mentioned some type of advancement on SDG 15.3. Yet, only 5 countries reported on the actual indicator 15.3.1.
Why it matters
Because if we don’t know the proportion of land that is degraded over a total land area, how can you take the necessary actions and measure progress.
