ILC and the Sheffield Institute for International Development (SIID - University of Sheffield) are inviting ILC members to express their interest to host virtually Master students for six to eight weeks in June and July 2021. Students are self-funded and will carry out desk-based research on land governance related issues identified with the host.
RESEARCH PERIOD: JUNE-JULY 2021
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 15 JANUARY 2021
The call is open to all ILC members and the research will be desk-based. The internship programme will support and make land governance-related research and good practices available, on topics that are co-defined by the host organisation and the student. The student can also contribute to the work of the host organisation by performing support tasks, although research remains the main focus of the internship. Students can use any appropriate remote research methods, such as online interviews, focus groups or surveys.
SELECTION PROCESS
The ILC Secretariat shares the hosting proposals received with SIID. Students’ interest to specific proposals will be pre-assessed by the University on the basis of their suitability, before contacting the host by the end of February. The outline terms and conditions of the internship will be agreed between the host and the University, and detailed arrangements will be discussed directly with the students before the internship starts.
