ILC and the University of Sheffield are inviting ILC members to express their interest to host Master students for six to eight weeks in June and July 2022. Students are self-funded and will carry out research on land governance related issues identified by the host. The research will be carried out remotely from Sheffield, with a possibility of switching to in-person if circumstances allow.
RESEARCH PERIOD: JUNE-JULY 2022
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 15 OCTOBER 2021
The call is open to all ILC members. The internship programme will support and make land governance-related research and good practices available, on topics that are co-defined by the host organisation and the student. The student can also contribute to the work of the host organisation by performing support tasks, although research remains the main focus of the internship. Students can use any appropriate remote research methods, (such as online interviews, focus groups or surveys) unless there's the possibility of switching to an in-person placement if circumstances allow.
SELECTION PROCESS AND TIMELINE
The ILC Secretariat shares the hosting proposals received with the University of Sheffield. Students' interest in specific proposals will be pre-assessed by the University, and suitable applications will be forwarded to you by the end of December. If accepted, students will contact you in late January or early February. The outline terms and conditions of the internship will be agreed between the host and the University, and detailed arrangements will be discussed directly with the students before the internship starts.
