Access to and control over land for women and girls potentially contributes to a more gender-equal society and helps promote women’s economic empowerment. When women and girls effectively use and control land, they automatically are able to build their own individual and collective leadership and to meaningfully participate in various decision-making processes, including economic development and sustainability. Women’s economic empowerment boosts productivity, increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes.
The Learning Lab will identify these issues in rural India by bringing the voices of grassroots women and learning from them what it means to have access to and control over land. The webinar is organised in conjunction with ILC Asia’s partnership with the Stand 4 Her Land (S4HL) campaign through its India chapter and Habitat for Humanity India.
