INTRODUCTION
Through this Gender Justice Lab ILC members and partners will collectively think about challenges and strategies towards financing and supporting women’s organisations, grassroots activists engaged in gender justice, and more broadly promoting a gender just perspective to funding and budgeting. Engaging different actors, from governments, philanthropies, private donors, civil society organisations and grassroots activists, the event will showcase diverse, relevant perspectives.
WHY NOW?
In a shrinking civic space, gender-justice backlash and financing uncertainty ‘’financing for feminism’’ and Gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) are more crucial than ever. Integrating intersectional gender lens and approaches throughout budget processes—from planning to implementation and evaluation - as well as rethinking funds allocation and management are core steps to dismantle gender inequality and gender discrimination.
