ILC is calling ILC members and partners to submit stories tracking changes in land policies and practices in response to the Covid-19 crisis, showing how these approaches are essential elements of building back better.
*DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 16 MAY 2021
In 2020 ILC released a brief titled Building back better: how securing land rights will be critical in a post COVID-19 world, capturing the multi-dimensional challenges relating to land access and land governance faced by land users and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
ILC will host a session titled “Re-imagining our Future: Building back better through progressive land policies and practices post COVID-19” during 2021 LANDac Conference “Land, Crisis and Resilience”. The round table session is solution-oriented, tracking challenges and changes in land policies and practices in response the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHAT WE NEED
In line with this, ILC is calling for stories tracking changes in land policies and practices in response to the Covid-19 crisis, showing how these approaches are essential elements of building back better.
The stories must:
- Capture new challenges that emerged in the last year, which were exacerbated by the pandemic
- Identify success stories, including changes in practices and policies by ILC members and partner organisation, governments and other land rights actors.
- Outline recommendations for securing and strengthening land rights for local land users and communities, based on your organisation’s experience.
HOW WILL THE STORIES BE USED?
The stories will update the Building Back Better paper, to capture the changes in land policies and practices. The updated paper will be presented at the upcoming 2021 LANDac conference (June 30 – 2 July) and will continue to inform ILC’s advocacy and policy work during and in the post-pandemic era.
Submit your story!
